OUR STORY AND HISTORY SO FAR
Back in 2013, we were driven by our passion for growing tastier, fresher food that lasts longer and has a lower environmental impact. Our goal has always been to make delicious, healthy meals more affordable and accessible for everyone.
And we just so happened to crack one of the biggest challenges in vertical farming – energy! By using renewable heating and cooling, we run our farm on 100% renewable energy. This reduces costs, making our fresh produce affordable which = happy customers!
WE’RE (VERTICAL) FARMERS
Put simply, we’re farmers; we just happen to do it indoors. We write the weather forecast for our leaves. From lighting and temperature to nutrients and water, we carefully create the perfect environment for our leaves to grow.
Just like any good food producer, we love using a mix of innovation , passion, and the best talent to grow the freshest produce possible. We are proud to be part of the great British farming tradition – helping to build a stronger, more resilient food system.
From that first seed of an idea that was planted over 11 years ago to now, GrowUp has grown into the UK’s best-selling vertical farm. We’re thrilled to have the backing of Generate Capital, a leading sustainable infrastructure investor. We’re teaming up to reshape sustainable farming. Exciting times ahead!
